1999 PACBT Info

This is the information for the PA Covered Bridge Tour held Saturday, August 28, 1999.

I have toured the route, which covers eight bridges, all which are functional bridges.  A route with directions has been prepared.

Lodging:

There is a Best Western Motel located just east on PA 313 where PA 313, PA 663 and US 309 meet in Quakertown, PA.  This location is a mere 10 miles from the first bridge.  Phone (215) 536 2500 or (800) 528-1234.

The ride covers eight covered bridges in less than 50 miles.  Since these bridges are used, the best Kodak moment is at the first bridge.  For the rest, I recommend that you teach your co-rider to operate a camera or video cam.  There is a half way stop for a break with outdoor facilities.  For those of you not familiar with this term, this means no running water, unless you count the stream nearby.
